Drain line stoppages occur in Tampa all of the time. If you don’t have the proper equipment you cannot do the job correctly, or at least as efficiently as someone that does. It is important to hire a contractor that has the proper equipment because if you don’t, chances are you will end up getting bad advice or end up paying too much money. In this particular project in Tampa the customer had repeated drain line stoppages. One of the plumbers said the only way to handle the situation was to install a lift station. I asked the customer how he determined that and the customer said he stuck a hose in the pipe and when he noticed water running backwards he knew a lift station was required. Now obviously a 3rd grade kid could come up with better methods of diagnosing problems. Thankfully, the customer was not satisfied with this diagnosis and called Tampa Bay Plumbers. Lift stations should only be installed when there is not enough fall from point A to point B to achieve proper gravity drainage. Lift stations require maintenance and should be installed using a scientific method, and not just running water in a pipe to see what direction it travels. It find this funny (and sad) to know that my competition handles their diagnosis like that. Drain line stoppages need to be tackled by a contractor that has cameras and locators so that you get the problem properly diagnosed the first time.
