Tampa Bay Plumbers agrees to service trade to help Ybor City business owner afford emergency plumbing repair. The nearly 100 year old construction had an elevated shower and storage area installed on top of an old toilet drain and clean out. At the base of the vent stack a hole formed and extended approx 3 feet downstream from the elbow. We would see smoke pouring out of the dirt behind the elbow and from the old closet flange during the smoke test. The building has had sewer gases for some time until Tampa Bay Plumbers detected it using its smoke machine. “The owner wanted us to do the repairs in a fashion that would save them money and also do a service trade.” Said Jeremy Gray, one of Tampa Bay Plumbers technicians. “The owner (Tampa Bay Plumbers owner) agreed to the service trade so we got right to work and 7 hours later we had it fixed.”
Tampa Bay Plumbers will perform another smoke test on Monday to make sure all leaks have been corrected. As long as no more leaks are found the company will patch the concrete move on to the next one!
