One of our clients recently experienced a break in her cast iron pipeline that was located under the slab of her home. The client needed the pipe to be replaced due to the fact that this section of cast iron pipe was having stoppage issues. Tampa Bay Plumbers had been out to her home several times in an attempt to clear out the stoppage. Unfortunately, the stoppage continued to return- not only did it have a broken section but it was also having a buildup of sand. We made a repair to the 6′ section of 4″ drain line under the slab that was in and around the patio area. We also installed a (4″) 2-way clean out with schedule 40 PVC. After we were done making these repairs we Hydro jetted the main line under the house and also jetted the outside lines so everything could flow properly.
The photos below show the broken section of cast iron pipe and the newly installed PVC pipe and repair.
